celebrate the small wins
Today, I want to talk about celebrating. Specifically, celebrating the small wins.

Living with MS can feel hopeless sometimes. It can be hard to be in a celebratory mood when you just feel blah. But I’m trying to find moments to celebrate. Even if they are small.
This week, I did a 20-minute beginner yoga class on my Peloton app. This is an otherwise normal activity but for me, it was huge.
The last time I did yoga was in March 2023, before I had been diagnosed with MS, but now I know I was in the midst of a relapse. Up to that point, I had done yoga pretty frequently. By March 2023, I couldn’t get through a warrior 2 without losing my balance and falling over. It was so frustrating. And after I was officially diagnosed, I learned that MS can affect your balance. I was scared to try yoga again for fear of getting hurt, so I stopped doing yoga.
After a year of trying to build up my strength in other ways, like through PT and Pilates classes, I made the snap decision to try again at yoga. Not in a big way – just on a whim after work, with a short and simple class. So I did it! And I didn’t fall over.
This, my friends, is a reason to celebrate. Because those 20 minutes showed me that I can do it. I’m not worried about if I can do it tomorrow, and I’m not going to compare myself to others.
For now, I’m taking the win!
What’s one small thing you can celebrate today?
