The Why
A few months before my 35th birthday, after more than a year of experiencing strange and scary symptoms, I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (MS).
It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around this diagnosis, this axis-tilting change to my life forever. Even in the “before times,” when I knew something was wrong, and the times when my gut was telling me it was probably MS.
After my diagnosis, I had some incredible conversations with other people who live with MS. It’s hard to describe how meaningful these conversations were to me. Talking to others helped me to not feel so alone. I felt understood and seen. I got tips and advice that felt real and personal.
MS is so unpredictable and unique to each person, but being able to hear their experiences still felt so familiar to me – because even though we might not have had the exact same symptoms or story, or we don’t have the same day-to-day experience, they knew what I was going through and what I go through every day.
I want to pass it on and help others with MS by doing what I love to do – writing, connecting, and listening. I love talking to people, I love learning, and I am fascinated by the different paths one’s life takes. I want to create a space where people with MS can learn about my experience, share their stories, and hopefully help others out there to feel the connection – and relief – I felt.

This is so great Kaite. Diving deep into all the posts. Love this and proud of all youre doing for people with MS.
❤️❤️Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s truly inspiring. While I don’t have MS, I know people close to me that are silently suffering from other life changing diagnoses. I know sharing your story will help them feel like they are not alone in their daily struggles. I’m rooting for you and sending strength to you!
I didn’t know you were diagnosed until your mom posted recently.i wish you all the best and I know you will help so many others along the way. Cousin Linda
